Overview

SK5 is a high-carbon tool steel designation used as a candidate for saw, spring and cutting components. Chemistry, delivery condition, microstructure and finished-part properties must be verified against the governing standard and order specification.

Typical Applications

Saw Blades

Band saw, circular saw, hand saw blades. Hardened & tempered to 58-62 HRC for cutting edge retention.

Springs

Flat springs, retaining clips, lock washers. Excellent fatigue resistance after heat treatment.

Precision Tools

Woodworking tools, jigs, scrapers, measuring tapes. Good wear resistance with consistent hardness.
